Apparently, some high school students in Eden Prairie, MN have something to say about internet surveillance as well. A good handful of them walked out on classes early today to protest penalties doled out to students who appeared on Facebook maybe potentially sort of consuming what could, I guess, be alcohol. If you could, you know, see through the large, opaque plastic cups they were holding.
Speaking of big plastic cups, they made an appearance in the New York Times article I referenced yesterday. A female student was dismissed from a student teaching program in Pennsylvania after her MySpace photo - depicting her in pirate regalia sipping from a large plastic cup - was discovered.
And now I can’t wait for the weekend. Cheers, everyone!
