Why the disdainful tone? I like copyright laws.

Copyright laws have their place. However, they keep piling up and piling up, and copyright protection keeps getting extended to include longer and longer periods of time (oddly, every time Mickey Mouse is poised to enter the public domain). Not to mention all the outdated dinosaur laws that can’t keep up with digital technologies.

It’s not copyright law itself, but the excess of copyright law that gets quite tiresome.
